Random Funny Statements

Anne is a little chatterbox and she has been coming up with some funny phrases and sentences lately. Here's a sampling:

Where did Rachel go?

It hurt my toe.

Hi Daddy! I'm home!

Orange (pronounced "uhnjzuh")

I colored my picture.

I take a tiny bite.

I want my vitamins (byemins)

We say "No more" and she says "Just one?"

We say "One more" and she says "Then be all done."

I want to have it

We say "Bye" and she says "Have fun!"

I hungry eat milk.

Watch "ol' Dick Donald"? (Translation: I watch Old McDonald? (a sing-a-long video))

I'm at the beach

Sing Bingo was his name-o?

Sambo lay down! (Her "L" sounds are all "Y" sounds, so it's really "Sambo, yay down!")

Mikey come! Sit!

I running fast!

I got fuzz in there (between her toes)

I want some chakeet (chocolate)

I stir the eggs. And some pepper.

And everyone once in a while we get a "I yuv ooo" and we melt like ice cream in August.

What?

Don't you read in the nude?

Brother and Sister Photo Shoot

Epic fail.

Annie and Sam had matchy-type outfits again. Both from Land's End and oh-so-soft and snuggly. A pink and a blue. Anyway, a photo shoot was in order, but we were not very successful, as seen below:

Wait, wait, wait...you can lick your own face? That's amazing!

I think this is a look I'll be seeing again in 12 or 13 years..."Seriously, Mom?"
Blue eyes to match his blue suit.
Don't worry, Mom. I'll check the baby for lice.
All smiles from the mop-top.
They're way cuter in person. I swear.

Intriguing....

Apparently, if you have purchased a "Baby Einstein" DVD in the last 5 years, you can send it back to Disney for a full refund. I'm not sure of the details, but if you're looking to unload some extremely boring DVDs, follow this link here:

Seriously, those things are awful.

Matchy-Matchy

I put the kids in their coordinating Minnesota Gopher outfits today. I personally think they are cute enough to be in some promotional brochures for the U...

Rah Rah Rah, Sky-U-Mah!Seriously, don't touch me.
But I like you!
Hmmm...will my scholarship be for football or hockey? Only time will tell.

Annie's Puppy Movies

Opa, bookmark this post. If Annie says "Want G-O-Dog," this is what she's talking about.

If your kids like puppies, check these out.

I once said "How did people parent before YouTube?" and Oma wisely responded "YouTube was called 'Sesame Street'" Touche, Mom.

Quickie!

Took Sammy to be weighed on Thursday, and he's up to 12 lbs! Beefcake!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch this morning and had a great time. We saw baby animals, played in the hay, and chose our pumpkins. Here are a few photos of our morning together!

Anne checking out the horses (and looking about 5 years old)All smiles in the barn
Baby chickens (I want one!)
How tall this fall? 3 feet.
She didn't care for the hay slide
Riding the tractor with daddy's help
Nothing gothic about these two:
Sammy and I were there, too :)
Anne crawled through a tunnel...finally!
Anne was very excited to choose her pumpkin, and was quite possessive of it once she had it. She didn't want to put it down!
All in all, a very nice morning with the family. Sammy slept in the Baby Bjorn the whole time, which was perfect, and we were all home in time for lunch. An ideal outing with 2 little ones.

Birthday and Dedication

Two Sundays ago we had Sammy's dedication at church, as well as Annie's 2nd birthday party. It was a crazy day, but a fun one. Here are some pictures from the day--thanks to Auntie Erin for being the photographer for the day.

Here we are in front of the church...Annie stole the show by yelling "Hi Opa! Hi Oma!" while we were up there. Then she looked at me and said "I be all done." I didn't know if I should laugh or not. Sorry, Sammy; you didn't quite get the solemn moment Annie did when we promised to raise her right. We meant it for you, too. Don't worry.

Annie and Oma and Anne's giant puppy from Will and Adrienne. I like this toy because if Anne drags it around the wood floors, I don't have to Swiffer that week. It's like a giant dustmop!

Opening her presents...she did a good job.

A Handy Manny tool set from Nana. "My tooos!" she says.

My big birthday girl. Those 2 years went so fast :)

Random Misc.

Some cute pictures of Sammy smiling today. What a charmer!

Annie wearing her birthday apron and playing with her new shopping cart, complete with play food. Just get her a straw broom and she can play "1940s shopkeep"

Photographers note: Try to keep your toilet out of the background. No talent.
And congrats to 2 of my friends who joined the Nine Pound Baby Club: Andrea and AJ welcomed Austin Alexander James, and Karl and Christine welcomed Madelyn Sophia. And I welcome them both to the exclusive club of moms who have giant babies.

2-Year Check-Up

A quick post, since both of my kids are sleeping in their own beds (holy cow!)

Anne had her well-baby visit on Tuesday. She talked a lot for the doctor and wasn't too shy, which was good. She got two shots and a FluMist up the nose, and her guilty-feeling Mom and Dad bought her a new toy on the way home. But, hey, no shots now until she goes to kindergarten!

She weighed 29.4 lbs and was 36.5 inches tall. That's about 70th percentile for weight, and off the charts for height. So perhaps I was not imagining how big she has gotten lately!

Annie Cooks!

Here's Anne on Friday night at Oma and Opa's house. We were there for dinner and Oma had made some biscuits while Annie watched. Oma was very brave and let Annie have the mixing bowl with some water and a spatula. Anne commenced to "cook" with her bowl and the salt shaker. You can hear how well she's talking in this video!

Posts and pictures from Annie's birthday party to come soon!

Photos of an Almost-2-Year-Old

She's just never still. But we tried, since she looks so cute in her overalls and wild hair. Only two more days of being 1...where does the time go?

Running and laughing:
"Posing" on the wall:

A silly grin (reminds me of Gracie J.):

Attempting to touch the camera:

With Mommy
(not so bad considering I just held the camera out in front of us and pushed the button):
