My 7th grade English class had a lively discussion today, and somehow we were talking about different teachers and their ages, and I said "I'm 26." and I swear there was an audible gasp in the room. The responses I got were varied; some said "Really?" and others were more blunt "I thought you were, like, 40!"
I guess being married and having 2 kids puts me, in the mind of 7th graders, out of the twenties and into the forties.
Just for the record, I won't be 40 until Annie is 16...
And if I'm 40, I look dang good.

yeah, I got a lot of that too. "he has a beard so he has to be at least 35" and "he's married so he has to be at least 18" and "look at his smooth face, can you drive yet?"
I got the whole range.
That's hilarious. I realized quickly after graduating from college that many of my teachers were a lot younger than I originally thought. As I get older and think about it more, I realize they were probably a lot younger than I thought... so funny! I'm sorry you were told you seem like you're 40. That kind of stinks.
Todd thinks maybe they were thinking in pig years. Not because you're a pig, but because they are not very smart.
